Precision Lighting Control for Film, TV, and Studio Applications
The Honeycomb Eggcrate Light Lens is designed for ceiling grid lighting fixtures where more directional light control is needed. Unlike traditional diffusers that spread light broadly throughout a room, the honeycomb structure helps focus the light downward onto the intended area below the fixture.
This type of controlled lighting is commonly used in movie production studios, television sets, photography studios, and staged office environments where excess light spill or spray can affect the look of a scene. By limiting the angle of light dispersion, the fixture can better illuminate subjects or work areas without washing light across surrounding walls, ceilings, or background elements.
The lens features a 3/8” cell honeycomb pattern that helps narrow and shape the beam while still allowing strong light output. This makes it useful for applications where cleaner overhead lighting and more controlled coverage are important.
The honeycomb cell structure also adds durability and rigidity to the lens itself. By distributing force across the interconnected 3/8” cell pattern, the design is more resistant to bending, cracking, and general damage than many traditional flat diffuser materials. The material maintains its shape well during installation and handling, making it suitable for production environments where fixtures may be frequently accessed, adjusted, or transported.
The Honeycomb Eggcrate Light Lens is available in both 2’x2’ and 2’x4’ sizes for standard ceiling grid fixture configurations. It installs directly into traditional drop ceilings and can be incorporated into both new studio builds and existing lighting setups.
