Changing Times and Approaches:

We are now being uniquely challenged to change our views as the world changes around us.  We have gone from a “throw away, I want it now” consumer, to one that wants to make smart choices and recycle.  We have gone from a strong economy to a weaker one, and from excesses to deficits.  We are also moving in the direction of a “greener” society, which includes renovating facilities instead of constructing new ones.  Ceiling tile restoration is an innovative approach to achieving this.

 What is ceiling tile restoration?

It is the restoration of aged and/or stained and discolored ceiling tiles.  Tiles should be restored using an acoustical ceiling tile coating that will be certain to have the tile retain its acoustical properties, will not stick to the ceiling grid system, have comparable light reflectance to a new tile, and will retain its properties.  The acoustical ceiling coating should also have passed toxicity tests and be fire retardant, such as the Sav-A-Ceiling Product.   It is also used to restore tiles to an alternate color for a renovation and more updated look.

 Why use ceiling tile restoration?

Cost saving

Time saving

Environmentally friendly.  Ceiling tile restoration will save our nations landfills from tiles being disposed and decompose.  More building markets are becoming increasingly required to “go green”.

Save energy by having greater light reflectance, thus needing less energy and less reliance on artificial lighting.

How is ceiling tile restoration performed?

Ceiling tile restoration is performed by preparing the area, spray application of the appropriate acoustical ceiling tile coating and discarding all prep and masking materials.

Preparing the area:  all walls, furniture and floors are covered with plastic sheeting.  All light fixtures, security cameras, security cameras, exit signs and sprinkler heads are carefully masked off.

Spray application:  the appropriate acoustical ceiling tile coating is applied by using a high pressure sprayer.  The coating should be one that is manufactured specifically for this purpose.

Discarding all prep materials:  All prep materials are carefully removed and easily discarded.

When is ceiling tile restoration performed?

Ceiling tile restoration is usually performed after business hours, in the evening.  This will not disrupt normal business activity.
